Asking for permission.
Some call it old fashioned, some have it as a must-do. What’s your take?
Is it still a requirement these days for men to ask for permission to marry their future wife, from the bride’s father?
Women, would you want your fiancé to ask for your hand in marriage, before proposing?

I think it's a mark of respect acknowledging her father's role. I know it's old fashioned but I think it's still an integral part of the Nigerian culture...
ReplyDeleteI agree wiv inspector. Even during courtship, the man should endeavour to familiarize himself with the family of the lady. It'd be rude to just be courting a lady towards marriage without regards for her family.
ReplyDeleteI personally am of the opinion that, permission should be well sought from the family of the ladies before marriage :)
